Privacy Policy

Mintage - TCG Portfolio is a Pokémon card collection and portfolio tracker published by JLC Labs LLC. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it. We collect only what's needed to run the app.

What we collect

Account info — your email address and display name, used to create and manage your account.
Portfolio data — the cards, purchases, sales, trades, and other transactions you log in the app. This is your data; we store it so it's available across devices.
Subscription status — whether you have an active Mintage Pro subscription and whether Apple, Google Play, or a complimentary grant provides access.
Scanner data — card text is recognized on your device. The card name, collector number, set hints, and match-selection result are sent to Mintage to find the right catalog item and improve matching. Captured card photos are not uploaded by the scanner.
Usage and notification data — limited service events such as scan matches, notification delivery, and API errors, plus a random per-install device ID, platform, and push token used to register notifications.

We don't collect your location, contacts, browsing history, or any financial account information (bank accounts, credit cards). Card prices displayed in the app come from third-party pricing services; we don't use your portfolio data for any purpose other than running the app for you.

How we use it

To operate Mintage — authenticate your account, sync your portfolio, and display your P&L.
To process your subscription — verify entitlements so the right features are unlocked.
To improve the app — aggregate usage patterns and service reliability signals.
To respond to support requests.

We don't sell your data. We don't use it for advertising. We don't share it with third parties except as described below.

Third-party services

Running Mintage requires the following providers. Each has its own privacy policy.

Clerk — authentication. Stores your email and manages your session.
Apple — Sign in with Apple and App Store subscription handling.
Google — Sign in with Google (via Clerk), Google Play subscription handling, on-device ML Kit text recognition, and Firebase Cloud Messaging.
Expo — delivery infrastructure for push notifications sent to the app.
Neon — hosted PostgreSQL database where your portfolio data is stored.
Railway — backend hosting. Processes all API requests.

Affiliate disclosure

Mintage participates in the TCGplayer Affiliate Program (via Impact). When you tap a marketplace link in the app, Mintage may earn a small commission on qualifying purchases. This does not affect the price you pay. Affiliate links are labeled in the app.

Data retention

Your data is kept for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your portfolio data, purchases, and personal information are deleted within 30 days. Anonymized, aggregated analytics data may be retained.

Your rights

Access — you can see all your data inside the app.
Export — contact us and we'll provide a copy of your data.
Deletion — you can delete your account from the Profile tab in the app or start an external deletion request at mintage-app.com/account-deletion. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Correction — if any account information is wrong, contact us and we'll fix it.

Children

Mintage is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
